I recently saw a meme that said

“Consider How Precious A Soul Must Be When Both God And The Devil Are After It.”

That, personally, struck me to my very core.  Who’s side am I defending each and every day?  Am I fighting for God, or am I allowing Satan to have the souls around me?  Not because I’m sinning and leading them down the wrong path….but because I’m not doing my part in the kingdom and sharing God’s word?  Am I too busy leading my own life and getting my list of things done each day to look outside myself and see the need around me?

Stop for a minute and think about what “lost” really means…. if we realize just how tragic that word is in the spiritual sense of things, we should be spurred to action.  We must quit sitting idly by and allowing Satan to have dominion here.  We are here for a purpose: to work in the Lord’s kingdom and bring the lost to Christ.

Let’s wake up each day with His plan and our purpose at the forefront of our minds.

Let your light shine!

Think about a reflector at the edge of your driveway – what is its purpose?  To show the way home, if you will… into your driveway.  But if you are standing outside in the dark, does that reflector light up?  No, of course not.  A reflector only works when light is shining on it.  We have the light of Christ shining on us, and we are the reflector of His light to this world. We live in a dark world today, and we should stand out more than ever because we are set apart!  We are different!  We are His!

Proverbs 4:18

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Serve others!

So many people around us are in need each and every day. Some needs are simple daily struggles, and some are overwhelming, life-altering struggles.  We have something to offer those dealing with the momentary afflictions and even the intense battles that will ease the pain, suffering, and sadness this world is dumping on them. Being mindful of the world around us will open our eyes to the needs God is showing us.  He’s giving us ample opportunity to do the big and small things that will further His plan for our lives.  By serving others, we are serving Him.

1 Peter 4:10

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace

Psalm 100:2

Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!

Share Him!

Talk about Him!  He is living in us, and it should be natural that what we talk about relates to Him.  Our words should always be loving and kind, and we should always share what God has done and is doing in our lives.  Don’t be afraid to talk about Him.  He gives us the boldness and courage we need if we speak up.  What a beautiful story we have to tell about our Savior, but why are we not talking about Him more?  This world desperately needs Him, and we need to introduce Him to the world.  One by one, day by day, week by week, and month by month as the years go by.  Share Him this side of Heaven so we can take others with us.

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

2 Timothy 4:2

Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

Love!

Our world today has distorted the true meaning of love.  A small number of voices are speaking loudly about “love,” but it is not in any way a Godly love.  So many people are falling prey to the lies and deceit about what love is.  Only God can define love.  Let’s love like God has shown us how to love.  Not with hateful words and condescending tones.  Love involves guidance, and He has given us His word to guide us with love.

Romans 12:10

Love one another with brotherly affection.

Colossians 3:12

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

This message pertains to all ages, but our youth are especially subject to falling for the lies this world has to offer.  These lies surround them day to day, and it becomes a norm.  They become desensitized to the sins around them.  We must diligently teach them right from wrong and how to stand for the truth of God’s word lovingly.

Let’s do our part…. for all generations now and to come.  Take a stand and fulfill your purpose here on earth.  For Him!
